Obituary

Professor Guan Xudong from the Department of Microelectronics and Nanoelectronics at the School of Information Science and Technology, Peking University, passed away on November 20, 2021 in Beijing at the age of 82 due to ineffective medical treatment. Professor Guan Xudong has long been engaged in research and teaching in integrated circuit technology, as well as in the structure, process technology, and equipment manufacturing of flat panel display related devices. His lectures on microelectronics experiments, integrated circuit technology, and other courses have been well received by students. He has written "Fundamentals of Silicon Integrated Circuit Technology" and "Fundamentals of Integrated Circuit Technology", which have won the second prize for excellent textbooks from the National Education Commission. Since taking office as a member of the Strategic Committee of Shijiazhuang Chengzhi Yonghua Display Materials Co., Ltd. in 2018, Professor Guan Xudong has been rigorous in his academic studies and selfless in his dedication, using his lifelong knowledge and experience to provide direction for the long-term development of Chengzhi Yonghua. His pursuit of excellence, diligent academic spirit, and noble character will always be worthy of our learning and remembrance.
